One of the features of the Ogose Crematorium is a maisonette-style “good-bye unit,” which consists of a collection room and a waiting room. Visitors can enjoy a quiet forest scene from the large glass windows facing the outside, when farewelling, rituals of collecting bones, and when entering and exiting the waiting room. In the waiting area, a variety of hotel-like spaces have been set up so that visitors can spend time where they want. A meditative space where you can think of it, a lounge like a café where you can relax, a cozy place surrounded by trees and wood, a piece of furniture made by local craftsmen and so on. I thought about such a goodbye place where a quiet moment could fill the mind and body of the visitor even a little.
