Naraha Gymnasium aims to improve the health of townspeople and improve the educational environment for reopening schools by promoting the recovery of towns that had to be evacuated in response to the declaration of a nuclear emergency at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station. It is a base facility for sports exchange and education. The exterior design, which features a large roof that draws a conical curve consisting of aluminum louvers and solar heat collection pipes, highlights Naraha Town’s new determination to renew its energy structure, focusing on renewable energy, and the vitality of the townspeople.
