Hamamatsu City, known as the “City of Music” and home to world-renowned musical instrument manufacturers, is a city where the musical activities of its citizens thrive. The “Hama Hall,” which was the base facility for such activities, was closed due to aging and seismic resistance issues, and a new music hall was required to serve as “a place for citizens to present their musical and cultural activities and the results of their studies. In the SALA Music Hall, by setting up two major zoning, the hall and the multi-purpose room group, a “one-stroke circulation line” that responds to a variety of citizen activities and conventions and a multi-purpose zone that serves as a familiar second hall where “citizen activities overflow into the surrounding area on a daily basis” are realized, and users can enjoy the music as performers and as audience members. We aimed to create a hall where people can “fully enjoy musical activities” without feeling stress.
